On Christmas morning, Jason, Ashlyn, and I woke up and celebrated Christmas together with just the three of us, before all of our family arrived. We opened the few presents we got for each other and then tried to get Ashlyn to open her presents. I thought she would really understand the "opening presents" thing this year and really get excited about tearing open presents, but she just wanted to play with the first present and really didn't care about opening the rest. So Mommy got to open a lot of gifts this year!

For Christmas this year, Jason and I hosted the family gathering at our house. In past years, we celebrate with his family before Christmas, and then we celebrate with my family on Christmas Day. This year, we decided we could have both sides of the family over and all celebrate together. Jason and I prepared our first turkey (which came out great!) and a few side dishes. After everyone else brought a few other dishes and desserts over, we had a Christmas feast! It was so delicious! Yum!

100th Birthday!

Last weekend, we drove up to Dallas to celebrate my Great Aunt Frances' 100th birthday! I know what you are thinking....that is a long time to live! The relatives on my dad's side of the family just seem to live a really long time!

It was fun to get together with many of my family members from all over the country and even a few flew in from London. We had a nice little gathering in a little room at the facility my great aunt lives in. We ate lunch, listened to old stories about my great aunt, and ate some cake. The cake was absolutely beautiful!

We finally did it!

After months of being nosey and reading other people's blogs, Jason and I have finally decided to start one together. I'm sure that most days it will be me writing on here, but every now and then Jason might want to comment on something. We just thought it would be fun to share the special moments in our lives with others. You will probably see A LOT of stories and pictures of Ashlyn! What can I say...she is a big part of our lives and we are proud of it! I guess all I have left to say is.....Enjoy!
